Coffee with friends

Well last night in my wisdom I decided to use the apples from my tree in the garden, this is a bramley apple tree, I completely forgot as I haven't made any apple deserts for over a year that I have a problem with apples.   I only have to get a bit of apple near my eyes and they go red and close, there I was making the desert and then I realised my eyes were sore.   I ended up taking an anti-histamine but this morning they are still extremely sore, I will have to go out and get some eye drops.   What an idiot I am, last night was a complete right off and I ended up going to bed early just to give my eyes a rest.

Just been watching the news on the television, amazed how much damage they have in the USA, it must be sole destroying to see your home destroyed. The fact that it covered such a large area is going to be a nightmare to get sorted.  It was especially sad to hear of the number of lives lost.   I have a penpal in Pennsylvania and she emailed this morning to say that it wasn't too bad were she lived.  Kathy said that the power went out for a time and the wind had thrown stuff all over the place and a lot of roads are flooded.  My thoughts are with all of you who are in the areas that have suffered.

My DT card for the latest Challenge at Friday Sketch Challenge.

For this card I used the following:

To Paris with Love

I saw this image on Free Vintage Digital Stamps and had to use it.   I used the Sketch from Friday Sketch Challenge   Lovely prizes for this challenge if you are interesting in entering a card, there is another week to go so plenty of time to enter.

There is something very romantic about the Eiffel Tower.  I remember going up to the top of the Eiffel Tower and looking out on Paris, it was a lovely clear day and you could see for miles.

I have finally got a new laptop and I am busy taking everything off the old one and putting it on this one, of course everything was in a mess on the old one so I am trying to be more organised by putting them in folders (not sure how long that will last).

For this card I used the following:

BT HAVE DONE IT AGAIN

After having all that trouble in February with BT they have managed again to mess up my line.  Had no internet or telephone on thursday last week.  My husband telephoned them and was told that it would be fixed next tuesday before 5pm, when he queried about their policy of dealing with problems within three days he was told that they couldn't fix things over the weekend.  He then calculated that if you have a problem on monday or a tuesday that would enable you to get it repaired within three days, if you have any other day then you will have to wait five or six.    This has been the final straw with BT and their lack of interest in their customers and  providing absolutely rubbish service.

On a brighter note I heard the telephone making a noise about 11pm and found that it was back on although the line sounds like someone is scratching something.  I assume that someone somewhere pulled out a plug or something and that have realised what they have done, or as we suspect the local box has not been replaced, we were told that it was full of water after the last episode, so we are assuming it has not been fixed and that was part or all of our problem.  So until we change from BT we are hoping it doesn't keep raining.

As the internet was down I decided to finally catch up on things around the house, this was disasterous as I ended up clearing out the small bedroom which we use as an office, there were boxes of all sorts of things, including my collectables which had been boxed up as we had no room for them and things being dumped in there which were on route to the loft as well as craft stuff all over the place.  It has taken me days to go through everything and putting the collectables on ebay in the hopes that some will sell and I will have more money for crafting.   I have also been trying to catch up on my housework after being ill the week before.  I have honestly  seen enough washing and ironing to last me the rest of the year.  On closer inspection I realised that every room in the house could do with a good spring clean and I am putting myself on a schedule of cleaning out cupboards and washing down walls etc ready to do some painting when the weather is better, in this weather the paint never seems to dry.

We could have filled about 40 water butts in the last few weeks - if I had the land I would be building my own reservoir.   So I hope all those water companies out there are catching all this rain.
I am hoping to finally get some cards made over the next couple of days.

Well I hope everyone is well and will be catching up on blogs today.

Hearts and Rabbits

Been a little under the weather this week so terribly behind in everything including crafting.

The weather is still miserable but on the bright side my water butts are full.  The garden is like a blog but not to worry according to the water authorities it is the wrong type of rain.  Well I hope they are transferring the water in the rivers which are steadily rising and putting into the reservoirs.  I do feel sorry for all those who have been flooded out, what a nightmare.  It will take months of work to repair all the damage to their properties.

For this card I have used:

Image from bodil's scrappeverden  (free digi)
Promarkers
Spellbinder circle die with hearts
Xcut die - square
Ribbon, flowers, button and heart from stash
Pink dot paper from Papermania
Green card, pink and blue card from stash (believe this was from the Range)

Tea Party

First I would like to thank Mandy for the lovely candy which I was lucky enough to win the other week, I shall enjoy using them, thank you again Mandy.

I would also like to say hello to my three new followers, I hope you will enjoy visiting my blog. I am looking forward to having a look at your blogs this evening.

Yesterday morning my hubby went off to pick up some narrow water butts, as he is a keen gardener and loves growing some of our vegetables.  It had started to rain before he went and it never stopped the whole of yesterday, he was disappointed as he couldn't get out to fit them to the guttering.  This afternoon it cleared up and he finally attached them to the guttering, of course it hasn't rained since.

Finished a card last night and realised that I didn't have that many flowers to go with the colours.  So will have to invest in some different colours.

The paper pack I used for this card is called Kitschy Kitchen, I was out shopping with my daughter Kent Crafter and we decided to split the pack as we had both spent too much on craft goodies that month.

For the this card I used the following:-

Image from Beth Gunnell
Promarkers
Blue and pink card from stash
Pattern paper
Memory box corner die
Whimsy vine die
X cut die

Hippee Girl

Would like to say hi to my new follower, thank you for taking the time to look at my blog.

I was expecting nothing but rain this weekend but have managed to get quite a bit of washing  out and dried.  My electricity bill arrived Friday and I was shocked at how much it was, admittedly we have had the heating on quite a bit and had to use the tumble dryer or else we would have no clothes to wear, but even so it was terribly high.   With my husband being made redundant some time in the next few months I will have to think of ways to cut down on bills, worse thing would be crafting items - silently screaming and stamping feet.

I am not sure how I found this site, but through looking at one thing and another, I ended up with this image called Hippee from Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps.  The site has some really lovely images.

For this card I used the following:

Image from Stitchy Bear
Promarkers
Papers from Making Memories Simply Fabulous Collection
Memory box die
Tonic butterfly punch
Sizzlet corner punch
Flowers from stash
Glitz glitter glue
Papermania pearls

Molly's Present

I was very pleased to see that I had been given an Honourable Mention from The Shabby Tea Room for my card.  Thank you very much.

I have decided to finally have a sort out of my craft items and use all the papers and stamps that have been bought or been free with magazines and use them.   I am just running out of space.  I have lots of odd paper that I am now determined to use up so apologies for not letting you all know what company they are from.

I had this stamp which came with a magazine about a year ago, it had this cute image along with a boy, cupcake and three sentiments, so decided it was time to actually use them. I used Glitz glitter glue on the butterflies but it is not very clear in the picture.

For this card I used the following:
Image and sentiment from Molly Blooms
Promarkers
Pink card and patterned card from stash
Memory Box Leaf die
Tonic Butterfly punch
X cut oblong die
Papermania pearls
Kars pink pearls

Sassy Cupcake

I would like to say hi to my two new followers, I hope you enjoy looking at my blog.

Unfortunately last week there didn't seem to be enough time to get things done and so it was off to Tesco's, Iceland and Wilkinsons on Sunday, it was the fastest I had shopped in years, managed to do it all in 1hr, unfortunately it took me two to get it in the cupboards.  That meant no crafting till the evening and then it was interrupted by ironing.   Of course it didn't help that they didn't want jacket potatoes for dinner, so eventually had to cook the Sunday roast.   My husband appears to prefer dinner to crafting - honestly men.

On this card I used some patterned card from Papermania, this was an excellent buy last year from the Range, for £9.99  you got a 12 x 12 plastic box and 60 sheets of double-sided card.  That made it only 17p a sheet and  a free box.  A bargain.

On this card I used the following:

Image from Bugaboo called Cupcake Girl
Promarkers
Patterned card from Papermania
Red card from Stash
Red ribbon - given to me by my daughter
Red spotted buttons from Stash
Doily from Stash
Pearls from Papermania
Glossy accents for cherry and shoes

I would like to put this in for the following challenge:

Cupcake Delight

Hi everyone, finally had a morning making my card, but if it could go wrong it did.  Finally after throwing things away and screaming I made this card.  The paper with the ribbon attached has been in my cupboard for about two years, I opened the pack on buying and then put it away now I have no idea what company it is from. The image was from a set of stamps I had from a magazine which I had not got around to using, I think it was Quick Cards Magazine and they were designed by Beth Gunnell.
